11/8/2023 0 Comments Nvidia 6600 laptop gpu compare![]() I mean, why not give the option to upgrade to another faster gpu like in PCs. ![]() Those numbers don't tell the whole story, you need to check reviews for specific card to find out more about performance.Īnd btw, that decision of having the Bios locked to one card only its a d*ck move from the companies. If you are going to aim high, why not shoot for the moon? The T60p is the last 100% 4:3 workstation class laptop from Lenovo, and they have FireGL V5200 GPUs (workstation version of the X600, which is about the same as a GF7600 Go). The main purpose is good old gaming on 4:3, and ATI X1400 still supports most of the old features like palette texturing so old games work as they should. So, I bought IBM ThinkPad R60 in mint condition for 20$. Now the question for you guys, I'm right or not? X1400 is a good thing for old games? Don't wanna have another laptop that doesn't support old games. It's not much weaker than my GeForce 6 and looks like it supports old stuff. And found IBM ThinkPad R60 with ATI Mobility Radeon X1400. And then I saw some samples from newer Radeon laptops and saw that they run old games better than GeForce 6, so I decided to look into such laptops. This one is powerful but it turned out that GeForce 6 lost many old features like support for palleted textures so this video card is not a good option for old games. So I bought 4:3 Toshiba Tecra S3 with GeForce 6600. Long story: I was searching for an ultimate retro gaming laptop, I had Dell Latitude D800 with GeForce 4, a good thing, but it had widescreen (bad for DOS) and can't run smth newer games like Doom 3, SWAT 4, Thief Deadly Shadows. The AD107 chip is manufactured in 5nm at TSMC (4N process).ĭirectX 12 Ultimate, Shader 6.7, OpenGL 4.6, OpenCL 3.0, Vulkan 1.3ĭisplayPort 1.4 w/DFSC, HDMI 2.1 VRR, PCIe 4.0, Radeon Media Engine (H.264 4K180 decode, 4K90 encode / H.265 4K90, 8K24 decode, 4K60, 8K24 encode / VP9 4K90, 8K24 decode / AV1 4K120, 8K30 decode)Ĥ Displays (max.), HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.First thing first, I'm talking about laptop video cards. The raytracing cores however will see less usage, as the RTX 4050 does not offer enough performance for high detail settings and raytracing in demanding games. The RTX 4050 offers 80 tensor cores and therefore supports DLSS 3 including frame generation that can have a big impact in supported games. Therefore, it is best suited for 1920x1080 gaming at high to ultra settings depending on the game (see benchmarks below). In our benchmarks, the RTX 4050 stays slightly behind the older mobile RTX 3060 but is clearly faster than the mobile RTX 3050 Ti. The performance therefore is also highly depending on the laptop and TDP settings. The boost clock depends on the TGP settings and ranges from 1605 MHz (35 Watt) to 2370 MHz (115 Watt). The TGP (Total Graphics Power) can be configured between 35 and 115 Watt (+ 10-25 Watt Dynamic Boost from the CPU) leading to different performance levels. The RTX 4050 Laptop offers 2560 shaders and uses 6 GB GDDR6 dedicated graphics memory with a clock speed of 16 Gbps (effective) and a 96 Bit memory bus. It is based on the AD107 chip and use the Ada Lovelace architecture. ![]() The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop GPU (Codename GN21-X2) is a mid-range laptop GPU.
